Mrs. Tran Thi Thu Khuyen, age 35, is residing at 400/2 Thanh Qui B Hamlet, Binh Thanh Village, Thanh Phu, Ben Tre. She has two sons, the older, age 15, dropped out of school at grade 9 to work for his aunt in Dong Nai, and the younger age 4, is in kindergarten. Her husband left the family 4 months ago. She has no land to toil and no money to do business. Every month she takes a loan of $VN 1,000,000 ($50)to do business and has to pay $VN 80,000 (40 cents) for it. She sells poultry, making $VN 30,000 a day. That is hardly enough for the family expenses let alone fees for house maintenance. The rafts are in bad shape, the roof and walls are rotten but she doesn’t have money for repair. Her parents live nearby but cannot help since they themselves are very poor. She badly needs help.
